Roy Heath-Callow became the Head of Technology at Lifted Entertainment in August 2022. With extensive experience in production development, technical consultation, senior management, and risk management, Roy has been instrumental in building and delivering new and existing productions. Prior to joining Lifted Entertainment, Roy was director at a number of service companies, where he focused on Technical and Project  management, remote production, web streaming, and broadcast onsite and offsite technical consultancy. During this time, he created concepts that enabled productions to continue during the Covid 19 Pandemic, including the successful ITV Drama, Isolation Stories.  

Roy worked on both the facilities and production side, delivering several large format reality shows and winning a Craft BAFTA in 2021.  

Roy's career in the broadcast industry began in 1997 as an Outside Broadcast Engineer at Global Television Services before moving to Charter and later Presteigne Charter. During his time working , he has worked with a variety of production companies, including NBC, ABC, ESPN, BBC, ITV, Channel 4, and Sky, covering events such as FIFA World Cups, UEFA Euro's, Olympics, football leagues, rugby world cups, FINA world swimming, and tennis tournaments as well as early reality TV, Light Entertainment, Music and Conference.  

Roy holds a Studied  Television Engineering at Ravensbourne College as well as completing an APMG Prince 2 Foundation and Practitioner training at Firebrand Training in 2014.  

As a leader, Roy has managed teams successfully in tender processes, winning a £10m facilities contracts, being early adopters of EVS technologies  and managing large reality shows with multiple teams on site as well as producing tender documents. He believes that communication is key in the broadcast industry and has adapted to collaborative working and using online platforms during the Covid 19 Pandemic.
