Matt Westrup is CTO for Hearst Networks EMEA, leading innovation and transformation across operational teams. Culture-first, he believes values underpin decision-making. Since joining the EMEA Senior Leadership team in 2019, he has steered cloud migrations, modernising the content supply chain and enabling fully remote operations and post-production. He says technology is “90% about people,” pairing technical insight with executive leadership. Previously he held operations leadership roles at Travel Channel International, Scripps Networks and A+E.

Everybody sees what happens on the screen and what goes out, but there's so much work and effort goes into production, the preplanning and making these things happen, to be recognised for that work that goes on preproduction is amazing!

To recognise people that do stuff that isn't normally recognised, you know it's normally the hosts, the executive producers and the creative directors, but yeah the technical stuff makes it happen!
