John is Head of Futures and Innovation at BT Media & Broadcast. An alumnus of Salford University in the UK and École Centrale de Lyon in France, he has since gained over 25 years’ experience creating specialist network and workflow solutions for broadcasters and media companies worldwide.

John now leads BT Media & Broadcast’s future thinking in broadcast and media services, which includes next-generation networks and cloud-based production services. John is a SMPTE Fellow and has been Chair of SMPTE United Kingdom for the past 4 years.

Everybody sees what happens on the screen and what goes out, but there's so much work and effort goes into production, the preplanning and making these things happen, to be recognised for that work that goes on preproduction is amazing!
